Forest therapy scheduled sessions

When was the last time you spent time in a forest?

Learn about and experience forest therapy - also known as forest bathing or nature therapy - in a small group session open to the public in one of a number of a central Sunshine Coast reserves.

Forest therapy follows a sequence of activities that awaken our senses and help us develop our relationship with nature, the more-than-human world. It is a simple and down-to-Earth practice that improves our wellbeing, strengthens connection to self, nature and other humans and acknowledges and reveres country.

For more information, including answers to questions such as "What happens on a nature therapy walk?", "Is there scientific proof that it's good for us?" and "What should I wear?!" visit the  Questions page.

Nature Connection incursions & excursions, school programs

I can bring education about nature to become education from and with nature with engaging, intriguing and inspiring nature connection programs to your kindy-, school- or uni-aged group and education . These will always be tailored to your lands, waters and people. I am happy and able to chat about learning outcomes, cross-curriculum priorities and risk assessments!

Forest therapy for groups

This is a great option for one-on-ones or in a small group of friends, family or colleagues; just for fun or to celebrate or commemorate any event.

Honouring grief and radical joy

I am awake to the climate collapse and 6th mass extinction, and the general predicament of living a privileged life in the 21st century.  I participate in and am informed by the theories of deep ecology, the work that reconnects, radical joy for hard times, grief and loss work, and see nature therapy as a type of ‘community therapy’ suggested by Thomas Berry. If you’d like to learn more or work with me on something in this vein please get in touch.

Healthy Forests = Healthy Us Day - Sunday 20 August 2023

Was a highly successful National Science Week event to celebrate, experience and learn about the links between forest health and human health.

Buderim, Qld.

I acknowledge that this area of the Sunshine Coast (Australia) is the unceded lands of the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi people and that a sentence on a website is not enough. I do my best to respect country and the elders and teachers past, present and emerging through how I live, speak and work.

May we all tread gently.
